WHY DOES MEDICARE SEEM LIKE A FOREIGN LANGUAGE?

When I first began looking into the possibility of starting my own Medicare brokerage, I was struck by all of the Medicare Jargon and Lingo that did not seem to exist anywhere else, except in the wonderful world of Medicare. I can picture my Sicilian grandmother (Angeline) saying, What in the sam-hell is that supposed to mean?

The more you see and hear specific phrases, especially Medicare terminology, the more you will remember them. Medicare is like riding a 10-speed Schwinn Bicycle for the first time; it took a little bit of getting used to, but you quickly figured it out. It is the same with Medicare: when so many things are being hurled at you at once, it seems daunting and overwhelming, but do not let it get to you. I hope reading these terms will help everyone become a little more in tune and a lot less intimidated by the Big Bad Wolf we affectionately refer to as Medicare. As you get used to the Phrases, Terms, and the overall "Lingo" of Medicare, these charts may help you.
